The World Boxing Association (WBA) light flyweight champion, Kenshiro Teraji, held a public training session on Thursday as a promotional event ahead of his defense on April 8.

The Japanese will step into the ring of the Ariake Arena, in Koto-Ku, to defend his belt of the pioneer organization and his WBC belt against an opponent to be confirmed in the next few days due to the indisposition of Jonathan Gonzalez, who will not be able to fight due to illness.

Teraji’s opponent will be confirmed soon for his next defense and the Japanese hopes to come out with his hand up during that fight, which will be the first defense of his WBA belt.

The Japanese said he feels in great shape and wants to stand out in his first presentation as unified champion, which is why he has worked hard in preparation for the showdown.

Teraji has a record of 20 wins, 1 loss and 12 knockouts. In his most recent fight he defeated Hiroto Kyoguchi by knockout in a great performance in which he took the WBA crown from him.
