Keith Thurman will defend his World Boxing Association interim welterweight championship against Julio Diaz, on Saturday, April 26, in Carson, California.

The 25 years old champion will enter the ring for his second defense. He is undefeated in 22 fights with 20 KO´s. His opponent is 40-9, 29 KO´s.

Thurman said to the press he had been waiting for this opportunity to participate in a fight of this magnitude, he added, I respect Julio Diaz and I will not underestimate him. He knows this might be his last chance and I hope to be better than him, but I will win this fight”.

Diaz reply stressing the importance of this fight on Saturday’s, “is my great opportunity to face a boxer who is feared by many, but not by me. I’ve been in the ring with more dangerous fighters. I have experience and everyone knows that I come to fight.”
