The World Boxing Association (WBA) sends its condolences to all the relatives and friends of the Venezuelan journalist, Jose Visconti, who died on Sunday in his native country at 70 years of age.

Visconti was one of the most outstanding journalists in Venezuela and an icon that marked an entire generation thanks to his knowledge, charisma, and his phrases, which became popular in his country. His internship in television and in different printed newspapers marked an era and inspired young people to dedicate themselves to journalism.

Besides sport, Visconti was a man of God and directed religious programs with the particular style that always characterized him. He also served as a university professor in the areas of Christian human formation and, of course, sports journalism.

Visconti always had very good relations with the WBA and was at the funeral of the president emeritus of the entity, Gilberto Mendoza. Condolences to his wife Maria Teresa Pais and all their surroundings. May he rest in peace.
