WBA interim jr welterweight champion Johan Perez (19-1-1, 13 KOs) of Venezuela had to dig deep to retain his title via a tenth round TKO over game Dominican challenger Fernando Monte de Oca (15-3, 12 KOs). The gritty visitor attacked early and on many occasions forced the champion to backpedal. In the second part of the fight, Perez’s better boxing skills and stamina made the difference. The exhausted Dominican challenger stayed on his stool at the end of the tenth round. A much tougher night than anticipated for champion Perez.

In the co-feature main event, local girl Ogleidis Suarez (19-3-1,8 KOs) won the WBA interim femaler super featherweight title with a unanimous decision over Calixta Salgado (11-3-2 ,8 KOs) of Colombia.

The card which marked a return of boxing to Venezuela was held in Domo Maria Vargas in the city of Guaira.
