He is a boxing Dominican figure, not only in the professional but also in amateur boxing where he managed to win 310 fights, with ten defeats, besides being the Central American and Caribbean Games champion in Ponce in 1993 and in champion of the Pan American Mar del Plata in 1995.

In professional boxing he was champion of several organizations as well as WBA FEDELATIN champion. With a record of 33-1-1-1, 20 KO’s, Guzman is one of the Dominican Republic figures of boxing.
