Batirzhan Jekumbayev defended his World Boxing Association (WBA) Continental North America super lightweight crown with a five round technical knockout over Ivan on Wednesday night at the Whitesands Events Center in Plant City, Florida.

The Kazakh showed his dominance and strength from the start of the bout and was cruising the fight in his favour early on.

Jekumbayev worked well with punches to the head and to the body to get another victory in his career and remain the regional champion of the pioneering body.

It was the fifth straight win for the 33-year-old fighter, who has not lost since 2021 when he succumbed to Subriel Matias.

Jekumbayev’s record now stands at 23 wins, 1 loss and 17 knockouts, while Redkach improved his record to 24 wins, 7 losses, 1 draw and 19 knockouts.
