Cameroon’s Jean Junior Messi won the World Boxing Association (WBA) East Asia welterweight belt by defeating Afghanistan’s Ahmad Samir Dawrani at the SpacePlus Arena, Bangkok, Thailand. 

The African scored a first round technical knockout to score an important victory in his career and become a regular champion during his visit to Asia. 

Messi is a Dubai-based fighter who has been looking for his opportunities and did not hesitate to fight for the regional title when the opportunity presented itself. The 25-year-old boxer scored a resounding victory that demonstrates his growth and evolution within the sport.
