The World Boxing Association bantamweight 118 lbs Champion, Briton Jamie McDonnell and his challenger, Japanese Tomoki Kameda met at the weigh in the State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, Texas

Both fighters made 117.8 pounds on the scale.

McDonnell (25-2-1, 12 KO) is defendi for the second time the title he won on May 31 2014 when he defeated Tabtimdaeng Na Rachawat by TKO 1 in London.

The Challenger is the former WBO champion, the youngest of the Kameda dynasty (31-0, 19 KO), and is making his first attempt for the WBA belt

Luis Pabón will be the referee, and Ignacio Robles (PAN), Lynn Carter (US) and Nelson Vasquez (PUR), as judges, all of them under the supervision of Carlos Chávez (VEN).
