Arsen Goulamirian made the first defense of his Super Cruiserweight Championship of the World Boxing Association (WBA) against Constantin Bejenaru in Marseille, France. The Frenchman born in Armenia got a technical knockout in the tenth round to keep the black and gold belt and remains one of the best in the world in the weight class.

Goulamirian met a strong rival in the Romanian veteran and had to step up his game to yet another level with an overwhelming pace that allowed him to take a clear and dominating victory through the rounds.

The champion made an aggressive but cautious fight against the power of his opponent. In the ninth round he scored a knockdown with a short left hook that sent Bejenaru to the canvas. Although the challenger rejoined, he decided not to come out for the next round due to the accumulated punishment.

“El Feroz” is consolidated in the weight and expects challenges from the best fighters in the short term. His record is now 26 wins, no defeats and 18 knockouts, while Bejenaru now has a record of 14 wins, 1 setback and 4 knockouts.
