Gonzalez is king after Reveco drops WBA belt

Juan Carlos Reveco is no longer the absolute flyweight champion after he resigned late Friday in a letter addressed to the World Boxing Association. Now, Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez is the new king at 108 pounds. In the letter, Reveco said he was going up to 112 pounds and requested to be recognized as the number one ranked challenger in the category, and points to a fight with the new interim-champion, Venezuelan Jean Piero Perez, as his first opponent. The Nicaraguan González enjoyed the status of interim champion, so now he gets to reign as the full champion.
