Gilberto Mendoza Boxing Festival returns to Yesterday

Amateur boxing returns this March 11 to the Yesterday Recreational Center, in Turmero, Aragua, to celebrate the Gilberto Mendoza Festival in its seventh edition.

Amateur fighters from Lara, Guárico, Carabobo and Aragua states will step into the ring for a sporting event that will commemorate the legacy of the President Emeritus of the World Boxing Association, Gilberto Mendoza, seven years after his physical departure.

The event, which includes 20 bouts, will be endorsed by the WBA, an ally of the Festival since its genesis.

The delegations are expected to arrive on the afternoon of Friday, March 10, when the technical meeting will be held. A mass in honor of Gilberto Mendoza will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, and the sporting activities will begin after 12 noon.

The organizers will hold a press conference on Thursday, March 9, starting at 11:00 am, at the Yesterday Recreational Center.
