WBA President Gilberto Jesús Mendoza officially presented Nataly Delgado with her world championship belt during an intimate ceremony held Monday evening, surrounded by her family, close friends, and members of the pioneering organization.

During his visit to Panama, Mendoza has taken part in several official activities, with one of his top priorities being the formal presentation of the championship belt to Delgado, who captured the WBA Super Flyweight World Championship by defeating Jasmine Artiga on June 13 in Orlando, Florida.

The championship belt, featuring special custom engravings, was presented not only in recognition of Delgado’s achievement as world champion, but also as a tribute to her role in elevating Panamanian boxing. Delgado now stands as one of the leading faces of a nation that serves as the home of the WBA and has played a pivotal role throughout Mendoza’s tenure as president.

Joining Mendoza at the ceremony were Presidential Advisor Oliver Gómez and WBA Future Program Director Alfredo Mendoza, who shared the special occasion with Delgado’s family, friends, and members of the media in attendance.

Mendoza Meets With Panama City Mayor Mayer Mizrachi

Earlier on Monday, Mendoza continued his busy schedule in Panama with a meeting alongside Panama City Mayor Mayer Mizrachi to discuss sports development initiatives centered on boxing and the creation of greater opportunities for the country’s young athletes.

Following the meeting, Mendoza expressed his gratitude and enthusiasm for the collaborative work ahead with Panamanian authorities, emphasizing that the planned initiatives will benefit both the nation’s fighters and the country that has long welcomed both him and the World Boxing Association.
