Gervonta: The Face of Boxing

Saturday night was one of those nights in boxing. The multiple celebrities around the ring, a packed arena and millions of people around the world talking about a fight. Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia caused the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas to be the epicenter of the sport this weekend and the show was worthy of what was expected.

Gervonta proved that he has enough merits to be the great figure of the sport or to be among the best. He put on a spectacular fight against Ryan and knocked him out in seven rounds with overwhelming superiority and with a forcefulness befitting one of the best pound for pound.

With the obvious focus in his eyes and an attitude of total calmness, Gervonta stepped into the ring to clear any doubts about his condition. He met a Ryan who was aggressive from the start but was able to overcome that moment and ride out the storm.

Davis’ goal was obvious and he was just waiting for a mistake from Garcia. As soon as his opponent missed a left hook, Gervonta performed one of the most beautiful and perfect dodging and punching moves seen in boxing in recent years to connect a left to the face that sent “KingRy” to the canvas.

From the second round on, the fight changed, Davis became dominant and it was all a matter of time until the body shot that put Ryan on his knees to hear the referee’s count.

Davis not only won the eagerly anticipated bout, but did so in spectacular fashion to the bustle of an arena that was packed to the last.

The sport’s die-hard fans now have him one step higher, while many casual people now know that Gervonta is one of the best in the sport. The WBA lightweight champion had a great night and is one of the most exciting fighters to watch.
