The fight between Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia that will take place next April 22, in Las Vegas, is taking shape. On Wednesday, March 8, the first press conference to present the fight took place and the tension between both fighters was noticeable.

They both talked about what they expect from this big fight, which is scheduled at a 136-pound catchweight and therefore will not have Davis’ WBA lightweight title at stake.

Gervonta talked about how good the fight will be and noted that he wants this to be a turning point for quality young boxers to take a chance on fighting each other. On the other hand, he assured that he will give Garcia a beating and that he will win in easy fashion.

Ryan was no slouch and went two rounds to knock Davis out. He was very confident in his statements and wants to put on a great show that will mean a great test for his career and help him rise to the place his fans expect him to be.

Promotion for the fight will continue in the coming days as they prepare for the big showdown next month. Gervonta is undefeated in 28 fights, with 26 knockouts, while Garcia has 19 knockouts in his 23 fights won.

Barranquilla will also host the Gilberto Mendoza Boxing Festival
