The World Boxing Association granted the middleweight world champion Gennady Golovkin the status of Super Champion.

The Kazakh has ten successful title defenses of his 160 pounds championship since August 14, 2010.

Gennady Golovkin (29-0, 26 KO) was also granted a special permission to fight Daniel Geale (30-2, 16 KO’s) in July.

Geale is the third contender in the WBA rankings and has the PANAF division title.
