“I am a real champion and I thank the Puerto Rican people for their support” were the words of the World Boxing Association 140 lbs super champion of the world Danny “Swift” García who retained his black and gold belt for the fourth time, last Saturday in Puerto Rico.

Mauricio Herrera as a tough contenders who demanded a lot from the champion, who won by majority decision. The judges Carlos Colon and Alejandro Rochin scored the bout 116-112 para, while Gustavo Padilla scored 114-114, to make a majority decision in favor of Garcia.

After the 12 rounds of action in the Bayamon Coliseum, Garcia said, “I am very happy for this victory here in Puerto Rico. I am a real champion and I appreciate the support of all Puerto Ricans”.

García won the WBA title in 2012 when he defeated Amir Khan. He defended it the same year against Erik Morales, and then in 2013, he defeated Zab Judah and Lucas Mathysse. On Saturday, his made the fourth successful defense of his black and gold belt, and is still undefeated in 28-0, 16 KO´s.
