The day of the return to the ring approaches for two undefeated boxers. Irish Katie Taylor, owner of the World Boxing Association lightweight title and all the other belts in the division, will defend them on on Saturday against Argentine fighter Karen Carbajal at the Wembley Arena in the United Kingdom.

A press conference was held this morning to put show the world promising card that will feature the women’s main event fight between Taylor and Carbajal. 

Both fighters spoke with great respect for each other and expressed their joy; the Argentine representative for the opportunity to face the number one in the world and the chance to have all the belts and the 135 lbs. queen for her return to the ring and close a fabulous year while waiting to define whether or not she will make the rematch with Amanda Serrano after starring both in what was a historic fight in April. 

“This opportunity is a dream one. We are ready. It’s been years working for an opportunity like this to happen and when we find out we work harder and consciously. I feel we are ready for this Saturday,” Carabajal told the microphone. 

Nicknamed “Burbuja” by her coach Fernando Albello, Karen Carabajal, who is also a professional psychologist with a postgraduate degree in addictions, made the last presentation in the ring last April 10 in her homeland against her compatriot Lorena Agoutborde and triumphed in a unanimous decision. At the age of 32, she arrives to her first foreign outing, and in front of a very big chance, with 19 wins, 2 knockouts and no setbacks.

Katie Taylor, 36 years old, 21 fights undefeated and protagonist of exciting fights, always with a positive and calm countenance, showed respect for the experience of her Argentinean rival and hopes to offer another great show this Saturday.
