Cruz returns to the ring against Parker in Mexico

The brand new World Boxing Association (WBA) champion, Erika Cruz, has already shown the world that her name is impossible to underestimate. From being little known before 2021, she became the champion and now she will star in a very important fight for women’s boxing against Amanda Serrano.

At the beginning of 2021 she received the opportunity to fight Jelena Mrdjenovich for the world title. Without her father and trainer in the corner due to paperwork issues, she traveled to North America to upset the Canadian and has defended her belt twice since, including a rematch with Mrdjenovich.

In addition to being a boxer, she is a mother and a Federal Police officer, an institution that has embraced Cruz as an example of pride and self-improvement as she represents it on the world stage and demonstrates what women are capable of in different roles.

That is why her opponent Serrano, one of the best in boxing history, has taken this fight very seriously and has so many kind words for Cruz. Mexican grit is another characteristic that “Dinamita” knows how to use very well and has been evident in each of his fights.

She has worked very hard and being the star at Madison Square Garden, New York, this Saturday will be her first reward. But she, like every champion, will not be satisfied with that and wants the win, she has done it before and wants to repeat it to remain as black and gold monarch, in addition to adding the WBO, IBF and WBC belts.

A challenge that will not be easy, but Cruz is used to this kind of fights and knows what it takes to come out with her hand up. It will be another chapter of the Mexico-Puerto Rico rivalry and the Mexican wants to add a victory to her side.
