A few days before a new Matchroom Boxing billboard, British boxer Ellie Scotney will defend her World Boxing Association super bantamweight intercontinental belt against Argentinean boxer Cecilia Roman. The fight will be one of the attractions in London, this coming Saturday, May 21.

It will be another important challenge for Scotney. Last February she was crowned WBA inter-continental champion when she defeated by points the also Argentinean Jorgelina Guanini. A tough fight for the young Briton who, thanks to the support of her amateur past, got a title shot at the fourth professional presentation.

She will have the opportunity to make her first defense against another strong opponent. Maria Cecilia Roman has just lost the IBF 122 lbs. belt to Ebanie Bridges in March. Prior to that, Román had managed to retain her reign six times. Now he will be looking to return to the world championships.

While Escotney will arrive with a total of 4 fights won, Roman will be presented with 16 wins, 6 losses and 1 draw.
