Rising American super middleweight contender Darius Fulghum is set for his second defense of the WBA Continental USA title on February 15, as he puts his belt and unbeaten record on the line against fellow countryman Winfred Harris Jr.
Since turning pro in 2021, Fulghum has been a wrecking machine, stopping 11 of his 13 opponents, all before the seventh round. The El Paso, Texas native captured the WBA Continental USA title in December 2023, scoring a dominant TKO over Pachino Hill. Just a month later, he added the WBA Intercontinental strap to his collection, outpointing veteran Alantez Fox. Now ranked #5 in the WBA super middleweight division, Fulghum is seen as one of the brightest prospects in the weight class.
Standing in his way is Detroit’s Winfred Harris Jr., a 22-2-2 fighter with 10 KOs to his name. Harris Jr. enters the fight looking to snap a two-bout winless streak, having suffered a TKO loss to Sena Agbeko followed by a draw against Immanuwel Aleem.
While Harris Jr. boasts more professional experience, he has yet to reach the heights of Fulghum, who continues to climb the super middleweight ranks at a rapid pace.
