Former world champion Danny Garcia, an American of Puerto Rican descent, will return to the ring on July 30 to face Jose Benavidez Jr. in a super welterweight bout.

“Swift” has not fought since December 2020, when he lost by split decision to Errol Spence Jr. and after a long break he is ready to move up in class and restart his career.

Benavidez comes with a similar reality as he lost in 2018 to Terence Crawford and was out of the ring for a long time until 2021 when he returned to draw against Francisco Torres.

The challenge is of great importance for both, as the winner will have good opportunities at 154 pounds and will be able to look for better names in the division.

The fight will take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, which announced the bout through its social networks.
