Puerto Rican Derrieck Cuevas will defend his World Boxing Association (WBA) Fedecentro super welterweight belt this Friday against Cuban Damian Rodriguez at the Coliseo de Combates Pandeportes, in Panama City.

It will be the main bout of the night in the event organized by All Star Boxing, which will feature the presence of talented boxers from different countries and will be broadcasted in Latin America through Espn Knockout.

Cuevas demolished Venezuelan Esneiker Correa in just two rounds during their most recent fight on December 2. A quick knockout allowed him to win the regional crown of the pioneer body, which he will defend for the first time this time.

He will face the Antillean Rodriguez, with a respectable record and who reappears after a long period of inactivity. The Panama-based fighter will feel at home during the fight and intends to return to the ring in style.

Cuevas has a record of 24 wins, 1 loss, 1 draw and 16 wins by stoppage. On Rodriguez’s side, he has won 13 fights, has only 1 loss and has knocked out 7 opponents.
