New York’s Madison Square Garden is set to host the big featherweight championship bout between World Boxing Association (WBA) champion Erika Cruz and the WBC, IBF and WBO champion, Amanda Serrano.

It will be a historic day for women’s boxing as it is the second time that a female fight will be the main event at this venue and it promises to be a fight full of action and excitement.

Besides, the fight will be another clash between Mexico and Puerto Rico, a rivalry that is already a classic in boxing and that has left memorable confrontations for all the fans.

But the victory of women’s boxing is not only there, but the card will be made up of other bouts that promise much and generate many expectations. One of them will be the super featherweight world championship between Alycia Baumgardner and Elhem Mekhaled, who will fight for the vacant WBA belt and the WBC, WBO and IBF belts.

Elin Cederroos, former world champion, will inherit the ring for a really tough and even fight against the undefeated Shadasia Green, in which the WBA Continental Americas super middleweight title will be at stake.

Other prospects in the category such as Skye Nicolson, WBA revelation fighter in 2022.  Ramla Ali, will also fight in the event and will have the opportunity to show themselves in the biggest market in the world.

Women’s boxing has undoubtedly been able to take advantage of every space it has earned through hard work and this weekend will be another of those occasions. The boxing world will be able to enjoy, once again, the great spectacle that continues to grow with the passing of time.
