“Chemito” Moreno is already in Texas for his WBA bantamweight title defense

The World Boxing Association super bantamweight 118 lbs champion, the Panamanian Anselmo “Chemito” Moreno arrived last Sunday to Texas, where he will defend his bantamweight crown against Dominican Juan Carlos Payano, on Friday September 26.

Moreno, 35-2-1, 12 KO’s, told reporters he is confident with the prep work he has done and said he will return to Panama with his belt after his 13th defense against Payano, 15-0, 8 KO’s.

The Dominican challenger had stated that he had finished his training period “I’m ready”, and said that since he is always in the weight without problems, “and the last days of my routine only worked tactical and movement”, and correct some details as he said.

The Officials appointed for the fight are the Puerto Rican referee Luis Pabon, and the Judges are Alfredo Polanco (MEX), Cesar Ramos (PUR) and Rafael Ramos (US). Supervisor: Francisco Piña (COL).
