Saturday night in Hangzhou, China, WBA World super bantamweight champion Nehomar Cermeño (28-5-1, 15 KOs), from Panama City, Panama, by way of Barcelona, Venezuela, successfully defended his title a second time with a unanimous decision victory over # 7 ranked XiaoJun Qiu (21-4, 10 KOs), the Fighting Pride of Hangzou, after 12 rounds of action.

The final scores were 118-110 and 117-111 twice.

It was another solid victory for the 37-year-old champion, who fought for the fourth time this year and shows no sign of slowing down.

“The plan we had was fulfilled and that’s why we won the fight,” said Cermeño’s trainer, Celso Chavez. “We are very happy.”
