Panamanian pugilist Carlos Rodríguez clinched the WBA Fedecentro super flyweight championship by defeating Santos Villar via unanimous decision (78-74, 78-74, 77-75) at the Aurora Hall in SoHo Mall, Panama City.

Rodríguez (7-0-1, 3 KOs), nicknamed “El Gallero,” showcased his skill and determination, outboxing Villar in a closely contested bout.

From the opening bell, Rodríguez employed superior tactics, utilizing his jab and swift combinations to keep Villar at bay. Throughout the eight rounds, he landed precise and effective punches, enabling him to control the fight and secure the unanimous decision victory.

Santos Villar (3-3, 2 KOs), despite his effort and courage, couldn’t match Rodríguez’s pace and accuracy. Coming off a first-round knockout victory over Abdiel Mojica, Villar displayed resilience and heart but fell short against the undefeated Rodríguez.

This victory marks Rodríguez’s first WBA title, extending his unbeaten streak to seven fights.
