World Boxing Association (WBA) Champion Carlos Canizales will be defending his World Light Flyweight Title against Japanese native Sho Kimura this weekend, on May 26th, at Fuzhou China, on the same card that is featuring World Boxing Association (WBA) World Featherweight Champion Can Xu defending his title against Shun Kubo.

Canizales, or “CCC” as he is nicknamed, won his title in March of last year by beating Reiya Konishi and in July retained his crown for his first defense by defeating Bin Lu by TKO.

For the South American it is not new to visit Asia, since he has fought in Malaysia and Japan and has never lost a fight in that region. The second defense of Canizales will be part of a great evening in which Can Xu will also be defending his featherweight WBA against the Japanese native Shun Kubo.

Challenger Sho Kimura comes into the fight after defeating Wicha Phulaikhao by knockout in March. Kimura has been a champion before, but seeks to become a champion of the oldest sanctioning body in the world by upsetting the odds against Canizales.

Canizales comes into the fight with a record of 21 wins, no losses, 1 draw and 17 knockouts. He will face Kimura, who has a record of 18 wins, 2 losses, 2 draws and 11 knockouts.
