Canelo-Golovkin II is official.

What was an open secret is now confirmed. Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez and Gennady Golovkin will return to the ring this May 5, 2018, to fight for the World Boxing Association (WBA) Middleweight Super Championship.

Canelo and Golovkin met on September 16, 2017, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Both boxers gave a great battle, which left the fans with a great taste in their mouth. However, the fight ended in a draw. Don Trella voted 114-114, Dave Moretti: 113-115 in favor of the Kazakh, and Adalaide Byrd: 118-110 for the Mexican.

Now both promise to give a better fight, because they do not want to “leave the decision in the hands of the judges”. For this reason, the two fighters, in the promotion of the fight, have promised to knock out their rival.

Canelo has a record of 49 wins, 1 loss, 2 draws and 34 knockouts. For his part, “GGG” has 37 fights won, one tied and 33 knockouts.
