American Shannon Briggs and Puerto Rican Fres Oqendo team parties informed the World Boxing Association World Championships Committee they had reached an agreement for the WBA heavyweight title fight.

For this reason, the second purse bid, summoned to be held on February 23 at the WBA head office located in Panama, was cancelled.  So Briggs and Oquendo comply with the Championships Committee mandate. 

The winner of this fight will have to face the Russian Alexander Ustinov to comply with the Tournament ordered by the WBA in the heavyweight. 

They will soon release details of the arrangements, such as site and date of the bout.
