Boxing star figures that will participate in the boxing show that will take place at the Vargas Sports Center in La Guaira next Saturday, attended the crowded press conference held at the Marriot Hotel in Caracas.

To the press conference on Wednesday attended the boxers who will fight on Saturday, Johan Pérez (Ven), Fernando Monte De Oca (Dom), Ogleidis Suárez (Ven), Calista Silgado (Col), Mayerlin Rivas (Ven), Liliana Martínez (Dom), Alexis Díaz (Ven) and Jorge Estrada (Col), to promote the boxing show called “The Challenge” promoted by Jupiter Fight Boxing and that will take place on Saturday at the Vargas sports Center in La Guaira.

Attending the press conference José Macheck and Gregory John, of the promoting company, Garcia Carneiro Vargas governor, Elvis Sánchez boxing commissioner and Alberto Sarmiento, Treasurer and supervisor of the World Boxing Association.

All the boxers said to be in their best conditions and expect to win the fight.

Welterweight Fernando Monte De Oca said he came from Dominican Republic to Venezuela to win and he expects God will help him.

His opponent Johan Pérez said that he is anxious to get into the ring and said he will win the fight. I will demonstrate that the good cock (Spanish world for welter) is to be respected, and this is my house”.

Calista Silgado thanked God and the promoters for the opportunity they have given him and said to be aware her opponent is a very good boxer but she is sure to defeat her.

On the other hand, “La Niña” Suarez said she is happ to be in Venezuela, and that she is in perfect conditions, she also said she would not box in featherweight again, “I will fight this time in 130 lbs and will continue in that division for a short while, but my goal is 135 lbs.”

Dominican Liliana Martínez explained that she has not met her opponent, and Mayerlin Rivas replied “on the ring we will meet and may the best win”:

The Venezuelan Alexis Díaz and Colombian Jorge Estrada will fight for the flyweight Fedelatin title.

The official weigh-in is scheduled for for Friday at the Marriot Catia La Mar.

The presented of the Press Conference, Luis Vargas, announce that during the boxing show will take place the presentation of the book 36 Kings and a Qeen, whose author is the journalist Candido Perez and it is sponsored by the World Boxing Association, as a contribution to Venezuela sports literature and in recognition to the national boxers who have held a world title in professional boxing.
