The World Boxing Association (WBA) light heavyweight super champion was received by the president of his native Kyrgyzstan on Thursday in a ceremony to acknowledge his career and successes in the boxing world.

Bivol, the 175-pound champion, has been working in Kyrgyzstan for his November fight against Mexico’s Gilberto Ramirez and in between training camp was able to meet his country’s president.

Sadyr Zhaparov spoke with the WBA champion, thanked him for representing Kyrgyzstan and exchanged gifts in a nice meeting between the two.

Bivol will continue working hard towards the upcoming fight, in which he intends to keep his crown and his undefeated record, besides remaining one of the best pound-for-pound fighters of the moment.
