Zelda Barrett and Alex Dilmaghani will square off for the World Boxing Association (WBA) continental super featherweight championship on April 22 at the Cardiff International Arena in Welsh.

It will be an interesting clash for the vacant 130-pound regional title, in which both need a victory to put themselves in a better position in the world arena and get great opportunities.

Barrett is coming off a tough knockout loss to Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov last November, in an action-packed fight in which both went to the canvas. It was the first defeat for Barrett since 2018, which cut short a great run in the Brit’s career.

This opportunity to get back to winning ways is very important for the 29-year-old Manchester native, so he only thinks of the win as an option.

Dilmaghani, on the other hand, is on the mend. Since losing by knockout to Samur Ziani in 2020, he has won two fights in a row and feels ready for this challenge. The 32-year-old fighter wants to crown his good momentum with a win that will help him continue his upward climb.

Barrett has a record of 28 wins, 2 losses and 16 knockouts. In Dimalghani’s case, he has 20 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw and 7 knockouts.
