Venezuelan Lisandro Barazarte defeated Colombian Kevin Piedrahita and conquered the World Boxing Association (WBA) Fedelatin featherweight title on Friday night.

The fight held at the Sala de Festejos Da Luigi, in Maracay, Venezuela, ended with a unanimous decision in favor of the local with cards of 99-89, 96-92 and 96-92 by the three judges. 

Barazarte took full advantage of his height and reach in a fight that had many exchanges but managed to keep the visiting fighter away to score points and win a hard-fought fight.

It was the eighth victory for the 24-year-old fighter, who has one draw and 5 knockouts. Piedrahita lost his undefeated record and now has 5 wins, 1 setback and 5 knockouts.
