2017 was a great year for the WBA.

Without a doubt, 2017 was a great year for the World Boxing Association (WBA). The greatest combats were endorsed by our organization, which gave us even more prestige among the fans.

Just at the beginning of the year we sanctioned: Carl Frampton Vs Leo Santa Cruz, Keith Thurman Vs Danny García, Gennady Glolovkin Vs Daniel Jacobs, Jorge Linares Vs Anthony Crolla and Anthony Joshua Vs Vladimir Klitschko. These great combats delighted the fans up until the month of April.

However, after the fourth month of the year, other great face-offs were added and were highly talked about. For example: George Groves Vs Fedor Chudinov in the month of May, it was a fight that rose to the expectations. We cannot overlook the battle between Andre Ward and Sergey Kovalev or the one between Terence Crawford Vs Julius Indongo, all defending their four titles. We can also mention the fight between Linares and Luke Campbell.

But undoubtedly the battle that caught the most attention of the public was the one starred by Gennady Golovkin and Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez. Both gladiators gave their all and left boxing in high standing.  So much so, that they left the fans aspiring for the second version if this fight.

Without a doubt, a year of intense activity, which goes without counting the 47 battles in the month of December. And in all fights, some less publicized by the media than the others, there was proof of the even level of quality of the combats.
