The storied venue of the Argentine Boxing Federation (FAB) in Buenos Aires served as the stage for the coronation of Junior Andrés Narváez, who on Saturday night captured the WBA Fedelatin bantamweight title. The unbeaten prospect from Chubut delivered a composed and authoritative performance against Dominican challenger Yeury “El Domi” Otañez in a scheduled ten-round bout that marked Narváez’s first appearance over the championship distance.
From the opening round, Narváez imposed his rhythm and controlled the range, consistently neutralizing Otañez’s attempts to close the gap. The fighter from Trelew dominated the action throughout the night, building his success around a precise jab and constant lateral movement that prevented the Dominican from mounting any sustained offense.
Narváez’s superiority was clearly reflected on the official scorecards. After ten rounds, the judges returned a unanimous decision in favor of the Argentine, with scores of 100–90, 98–92 and 98–92, securing his first professional title.
With the win, Narváez improves his record to 6 victories, no defeats and one draw, firmly positioning himself within the regional rankings of the World Boxing Association. Otañez, meanwhile, falls to a record of 5 wins, 2 losses and 2 draws. Claiming a title at such an emblematic venue in Buenos Aires allows the young Narváez to project his career toward larger international challenges in the 118-pound division.
