With a line-up of seven professional bouts and at least four amateur bouts, the World Boxing Association opens this Saturday in the country its program of development “WBA Future of Venezuelan Boxing” or, simply, the WBA Future, an initiative of promotion, development and promotion of the sport.

This Saturday afternoon, September 30, at the Yesterday Recreational Center in Turmero, the curtain rises on this WBA cycle which, in its first stage in the national territory, will also offer three other evenings until December.

The stellar of the opening day of the “WBA Future” will have the promising fighter from Guanajuato, José “Cañón” Aray (12 G – 1 P – 0 E) facing Josmer Franco (4 G – 7 P – 0 E) from Merida.

Pablo Molina Gamarro from Zulia, grandson of the Venezuelan Olympic boxing glory Pedro Gamarro, the first silver medalist in the history of Venezuelan Olympic boxing, will participate in the event. Molina Gamarro (0 G – 2 E – 1 P) will face Willmer Cardozo, a debutant from Aragon.

In addition to Cardozo, two other fighters will make their professional debut, Gustavo Nuñez,  from Aragon, with a long amateur career, and Gleybert Maia, from Miranda, who has been nicknamed “Canelito”.

With the WBA Future of Boxing program, or simply WBA Future, the first professional boxing organization offers a platform for the development and promotion of young prospects in this sport.

This program was born in Barranquilla, Colombia, where six boxing events have been successfully held. In Panama, a 15-fight event has already been held. And while new dates are being prepared in the Isthmus, Colombia and Venezuela, the WBA plans to extend its initiative to Spain, Nicaragua and Argentina before the end of this year.

The “WBA Future of Venezuelan Boxing” includes events in October, November and December, with professional and amateur fights in different categories, with the endorsement and support of the National Boxing Commission.
