Leigh Wood and Mauricio Lara both made weight for their World Boxing Association (WBA) featherweight title bout this Saturday at the Nottingham Arena in Nottingham, England.

Champion Wood stopped the scales at 126 pounds, while the challenger made a weight of 126 pounds, and both are ready for the black and gold belt bout this Saturday.

It was a week full of promotional activities and expectations were growing as the days went by. A great fight is expected between both fighters, who have an aggressive style and know how to adapt very well to every fight situation.

Wood will make the second defense of his belt and hopes to remain 126 lbs. champion, but he will face a young and very motivated opponent who will try to take away his status and take the belt of the pioneer organization to Mexico.

On the same evening, Irishman Gary Cully and Puerto Rican Wilfredo Flores will face each other for the Intercontinental lightweight title and both also made weight. Both scored 134 pounds on the scales.

Wood has 26 wins, 2 losses and 16 knockouts, while “Bronco” Lara has 25 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw and 18 knockouts.
