Australian prospect Skye Nicolson was named 2022 World Boxing Association (WBA) Female Revelation of the Year thanks to her strong performance during the year. 

Nicolson stormed into the 126-pound division earlier this year. The 27-year-old fighter made her debut in March 2022 with a win over then-undefeated American Jessica Juarez in San Diego, California. 

She has since made her way up in the division and managed to make five fights between March and October, in addition to showing in the United States, the United Kingdom and, of course, her native country. 

She faced several experienced opponents and in all her fights she brought out her good technique to win on the scorecards and win a good amount of rounds, which will give her a good profile for a 2023 of more important challenges.

Congratulations to Nicolson for her great year and for the recognition obtained after her good performance. The WBA will continue to publish its annual awards in the coming days with all the highlights of 2022.
