Haney wants to make a big impression if he faces Lomachenko

It’s rare to see an American world champion travel overseas to get what he wants. Devin Haney will have to get the glory in Melbourne, Australia, against a solid champion like George Kambosos this Saturday in a huge challenge for his career.

The 23-year-old fighter will have to do it on the road and has had to wait until the last minute to find out if his father and trainer, Bill Haney, will be able to travel and be with him in the corner.

Despite his youth, Haney has shown he knows how to handle pressure moments and use his resources to come out on top in times of difficulty. He has already faced experienced opponents such as Jorge Linares or Joseph Diaz, great challenges that he has overcome.

It is worth noting that he was in trouble against Linares when in the tenth round he received a right hand from the Venezuelan that put him in bad shape, but Haney was able to recover and end up winning a fight in which he was superior for most of the rounds.

Now he faces a young fighter who will have the support of the crowd but Haney knows that his speed and height advantage, combined with his great jab, are tools he must use to impose his style and look for the win.

Be that as it may, it won’t be easy, but the American knows that. He has overcome great tests and now he is facing the most important of his career, in which he hopes to repeat history and reach the maximum glory.
