The last press conference before the showdown between Ellie Scotney and Maria Cecilia Roman took place this Thursday in London. The home fighter will defend her super bantamweight intercontinental crown against the Argentinean in a nice duel.

Both had their chance to speak at the event in front of the journalists and commented on their expectations. 

Scotney, who will make the first defense of the regional belt and who intends to dispute a world crown, assured that this fight will serve her to prove that she is ready. 

“Saturday night is another step. I will make sure to prove it,” stressed the 24-year-old local. 

Roman talked about her character and how she has worked to go as a visitor against the Brit. 

“If there’s one thing I have it’s perseverance. A defeat never threw me back. On the contrary, they help me to push myself”, assured the Argentinean. 

Scotney wants to keep advancing in her goals and Roman is going to be a great test to know at what point is her level. It will be a nice clash of youth vs. experience on the Buatsi and Richards program.
