Murodjon Akhmadaliev will live an ideal situation next April 3rd when he defends his World Boxing Association (WBA) Super Bantamweight Super Championship for the first time against Japanese Ryosuke Iwasa, in a Matchroom Boxing event.

The champion will return to the ring in a superb setting since it will be his first professional fight in Uzbekistan and also his first defense of the WBA and IBF titles.

Akhmadaliev has spent his entire professional career in the U.S. and now he will have the opportunity to perform in front of his home crowd and as a world champion at the Humo Arena in Tashkent.

The 26-year-old fighter defeated Daniel Roman to win the championship in January 2020. Since then, the pandemic prevented him from fighting again but he is ready for his first defense. He is considered number one in the 122-pound division and will have to prove his worth in this bout.

Iwasa is the IBF Interim Champion and that is why he earned the right to fight Akhmadaliev. The 31-year-old Japanese comes motivated to this great opportunity to regain a world championship, which he has owned in the past.

Akhmadaliev is undefeated in 8 fights, 6 won by KO, while Iwasa has 27 wins, 3 losses, and 17 KOs.
