World Boxing Association (WBA) Light Flyweight Super Champion, Japan’s Hiroto Kyoguchi, has traveled from Japan to Dallas, Texas, where he will defend his black and gold belt against Mexico’s Axel Aragon Vega on March 13th, in the co-main fight of the Roman Gonzalez vs Juan Francisco Estrada bout.

The undefeated fighter and native of Izumi, Osaka, posted several pictures on his Twitter account with his team at the airport. It will be a special fight because of the significance of the event, plus it will be his first fight in the U.S. and the first under the promotion of Matchroom, with whom he signed a contract a few months ago.

“I’m happy to fight in the United States under this pandemic situation. I hope I can perform well there,” said the Japanese fighter to local media, according to a press release written by journalist Joe Koizumi.

Kyoguchi will have a few days to adapt to Dallas’ time and weather, before stepping into the ring of the American Airlines Center to make the third defense of his WBA belt.

The Japanese comes in with a perfect record in 14 appearances, in which he has won 9 by KO, while his opponent, Aragon Vega, has a record of 14 wins, 3 losses, 1 draw, and 8 KOs.
