The legendary Indian fighter, Mary Kom, is preparing for the Tokyo Olympic Games and will start her performance this Wednesday at the Spanish Boxing Championship.

The six-time world champion will make her debut in the competition on Wednesday against Italian Giordana Sorrentino in the 51 kilogram category. It will be a great preparation tournament for all those present, as there will be nine fighters with experience in Olympic Games.

It is the first time Kom will step into the ring since the qualifying tournament held in 2020 before the event was postponed to 2021.

Asian Games gold medalist Amir Bangal will also see action in the competition and will face local Gabriel Escobar in a tough first clash at 52 kilograms.

It will be a high-level tournament that will serve those present to prepare in the coming months and arrive in the best possible condition to Tokyo.
