Today is International Women’s Day. The WBA family wants to congratulate women on their day. We want to especially thank the female challengers and champions that fight for our titles, and all the women in the world who fight.

“Women are real champions,” says WBA President Gilberto Jesus Mendoza, “because historically they had to fight for their rights. The WBA opened its door to women’s boxing, because it produces great shows and memorable battles.”

In his continued efforts to bring some sanity to the sport, Mendoza added, “We now join a new battle as equals. The WBA will continue to fight for the rights of female boxers. Their efforts need to be well paid.”

Happy International Women’s Day, champions!
