Murat Gassiev returned to the ring in style and won the World Boxing Association (WBA) Asian title by defeating Michael Wallisch by a fourth round technical knockout on Thursday in Moscow, Russia.

The former cruiserweight world champion made his debut in the heavyweight category at the end of 2020 and in his second fight in the division already captured the regional title of the pioneering body.

The Russian connected with a straight right hand at the end of the fourth round that dramatically knocked down his German opponent. Although Wallisch got up, Gassiev went to him and the referee decided to stop the fight with a few seconds left in the round.

The 28-year-old fighter intends to fight for a world title and this was a good first step in his aspirations. His record now stands at 28 wins, 1 loss and 21 knockouts. Wallisch, on the other hand, now has a record of 22 wins, 5 losses and 15 knockouts.
