American champion Robert Brant and Russian native Khasan Baysangurov both successfully completed the weigh-in ceremony for their fight this Friday. Both made the limit of 160 pounds and thus will be fighting for the title of the World Boxing Association (WBA) at Grand Casino in Hinckley, Minnesota.

Brant, who will be having the first defense of his middleweight title belt, tipped the scale at 158.6 pounds – considerably below the limit. The champion was in great condition and eager to retain the crown that he snatched in an upset win over Japanese native Ryota Murata in July of last year.

For his part, Baysangurov also looked very well physically while tipping the scale at 158.8 pounds for his first shot at a world title, after winning the Inter-Continental Championship last year.

Brant has a record of 24 wins, 1 loss, and 16 knockouts while Baysangurov has a record of 17 wins, no losses, and 7 knockouts.
