Ukrainian Artem Dalakian won the vacant WBA Continental flyweight title by decisioning Angel Moreno at AKKO International in Kiev, Ukraine, on July 17.

Twenty-seven-year-old Dalakian is a four-year pro (11-0, 7 KOs) who won the vacant WBA International flyweight title in April 2013 by stopping David Kanalas via first-round KO. He last fought, prior to his win over Moreno, in November 2014, stopping Malkhaz Tatrishvili by second-round TKO.

A Spaniard, 31-year-old Moreno turned pro two years ago (8-1-2, 2 KOs), winning the vacant Spanish bantamweight title in March 2014 by decisioning Ivan Ruiz Peranton. Prior to his defeat by Dalakian, “Golden Boy” last fought in June, decisioning Edwin Tellez. Moreno is managed by former middleweight champ Sergio Martinez.

On the same card, Ukrainian Oleg Yefimovych won the vacant WBA Continental featherweight title by decisioning Tuomo Eronen.

Thirty-four years of age, “Doctor” is a 10-year pro (26-2, 14 KOs) who won the vacant WBA Inter-Continental featherweight title in January 2011 by decisioning Philippe Frenois, a title he successfully defended four times. Yefimovych last fought, prior to his defeat of Eronen, in November 2014, stopping Dzmitri Agafonau by first-round KO. Never stopped, the Ukrainian hasn’t lost since August 2010, decisioned by Sofiane Takoucht, losing his EBU (European) featherweight title in the process, a title he’d held since July 2008. Yefimovych’s other loss came in October 2006, decisioned by Alisher Rahimov.

A Finnish southpaw, 34-year-old Eronen is a six-year pro (14-4, 5 KOs). “Terrieri” has won four of his last six, his most recent win coming in November 2014, decisioning Bence Molnar. The Finn has only been stopped once, by Roman Andreev via second-round TKO in October 2009.
