1927: Charley Phil Rosenberg W 15 Bushy Graham, NYC. Retains World Bantamweight Title.

1952: Kid Gavilan W 15 Bobby Dykes, Miami. Retains World Welterweight Title. Boxings first racially mixed bout in Florida. Gavilan wins by split scores of 142-141, 145-139, 141-142.

1960: Carlos Ortiz KO 10 Battling Torres, Los Angeles. Retains World Super Lightweight Title.
Jose Becerra KO 9 Alphonse Halimi, Los Angeles. Retains World Bantamweight Title.

1973: Oscar De La Hoya was born.

1984: Donald Curry W 15 Marlon Starling, Atlantic City. Retains WBA Welterweight Title.
