The World Boxing Association informs that the fight between Eleider Álvarez from Colombia and Thomas Oosthuizen from South Africa is not sanctioned by this organization.

The fight scheduled to take place in Canada on January 18, 2014 in the Heavyweight division has not been sanctioned by the WBA Championships Committee, so no WBA title will be at stake.

The committee however, after evaluating the division ordered Juerguen Braehmer and Marcus Oliveira to fight for the vacant title on December 14 in Germany.
