In an all-German middleweight world title clash, WBA middleweight super champion Felix Sturm (37-2-2, 16 KOs) scored a ninth round TKO over former WBC middleweight champion Sebastian Zbik (30-2, 10 KOs) in a grudge showdown on Friday night at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne, Germany. Zbik came out strong in the early rounds, throwing more and landing more. Sturm got untracked in round three and pretty much took control of the fight after that. Sturm started punishing Zbik in round five and did more damage in the sixth. Zbik had no answers and his corner stopped it after round nine.

Heavyweight Denis Boytsov (31-0, 25 KOs) outpointed Dominic Guinn (33-9-1, 22 KOs) over ten lackluster rounds by scores of 100-90, 100-90 and 99-91. Boytsov remains rated in the top five of all sanctioning bodies despite no meaningful fights in years. Three straight losses for Guinn.
